With The Ashes in June most of Australia's fast bowlers will be fit and not injured. This is due too less games in the Autumn/Winter season for Australian bowlers. But this will be a seclection headache with 10 fast bowlers of about the same skill level.
Here are the bowlers who have the biggest chance.
1. Peter Siddle- Australia's most consistent bowler.
2. Ben Hilfenhaus- Australia's highest ranked bowler.
3. James Pattinson- Young bowler who has built a name for himself.
4. Mitchell Johnson- Good experienced bowler and a handy batsman.
5. Jackson Bird- Good run on debut against Sri Lanka.
6. Mitchell Starc- A very good young bowler who has played a few tests for Australia.
7. Ben Cutting- Good amount of Shield wickets and a handy batter.
8. Josh Hazlewood- Has always been an option but seems to always get an injury.
9. Patrick Cummins- Played a few tests where a lot of wickets fell to him.
10. Ryan Harris- Was quite a good bowler but struck an injury.
Based on those justifications which 3 fast bowlers would you choose.

5 Reasons Why To Watch The KFC T20 Big Bash
The KFC T20 Big Bash is a new sport competition introduced last year. It is where 8 different teams from 6 different cities play Cricket in the Twenty 20 format. Here are 5 reasons why to watch it.

1. BIG Players
Good Performances is what coaches look for and there are many players who can hit and who can bowl. Chris Gayle, David Hussey, Lasith Malinga, Matt Prior, David Warner, Muttiah Murilathran, Saeed Ajmal, Sunil Narine, Dale Steyn, Scott Styris, Kieron Pollard, Shane Watson, Shane Warne, Herschelle Gibbs and Johan Botha just too name a few.
2.BIG Excitement
Whether its the hundreds of sixes hit last tournament or the close finishes this has to be one of the most exciting competitons ever.
3.Good Atmosphere
I can guarentee at every game there will be loud music and heaps of cheers from the extra passionate fans.
4.Less Competive-More Interest
This BBL both the Sydney and the Melbourne derbies will be held twice. This means that every team has one team that they play twice. These games are Sixers vs Thunder, Stars vs Renegades, Hurricanes vs Heat and Scorchers vs Strikers. Therefore it is sort of unfair but no one cares so it will atract bigger crowds to the games.
5.More Oppurtunities
Players will have more chance to perform therefore the selectors would be more likely to consider them for a national team.
Work Hard-Play Hard!

Farewell Punter!
Another South African tour of Australia has been conducted. The first test was a draw in the closely contested match. The South Africans fought hard for a draw in a match where Australia were unlucky to come away without a victory.
However the 3rd test was one of the most anticipated tests of all. A few days prior to the game starting Australian Legend, Ricky Ponting announced that he was going to retire from international cricket at the end of the test. This lead to many questions and a big hole in Australia's batting line-up. Phillip Hughes, Usman Khwaja and Alex Doolan are looking like one of them will fill the hole in Australia's batting line-up. At least on the good side Watson was fit again and ready to play.
In the game South Africa posted a first innings total of 225 with Du Plessis scoring 78*. Australia's experienced a collapse with Ponting making 4 and Wade high scoring for Australia with 68. South Africa scored a massive total of 569 with Amla scoring 196, De Villiers with 169 and Graeme Smith getting 84. On debut Elgar received a pair. Australia was set the run chase of 632 to Win the Test, Win the Series and gain the #1 test spot. Australia held on for the 13 overs until tea. A newspaper front page was seen with the text 'Only 592 to go'. 2 balls into the 4th day and Warner is caught for 29. Watson comes and then goes with 25. Then Ponting walked out to face his last test innings. Expectations were high! South Africa wven formed a Guard of Honour as he walked out on the pitch. Shaking Graeme Smiths hand and then the action gets underway. A news article on cricinfo say that Smiths hero is in fact Ponting. Unfortunately he got out for a mere 8 off 23 balls. Cowan got out for 53 while Clarke got 44. However Starc (68 off 43) and Lyon (31 off 43) got a 87 run partnership and the PBs.
Here are some stats about Ricky Pontings Career.

Ranger's Apprentice By John Flanagan
Ranger's Apprentice is a book by John Flanagan. The book is set in Araluen (England) and they travel to some nearby countries in Europe. Join Will and Halt with helping hands along the way with Horace and Alyss. This is my favourite book series. I rate it 9.5/10 a great book with a great storyline however it can be misleading and hard to understand at some parts. I recomend this to any boy between the ages of 8 and 12, if you do fit that you MUST READ IT.

Pirates Of The Carribean
Most people have heard about the popular movie series of Pirates Of The Carribean. Starring Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow this my favourite movie series not made from a book. Whether you like action or a bit of humour or just those great fun adventures this is the movies series for you! There are 4 in the series now but there is hinted that there is at least one more to come. Captain Jack Sparrow fights many forces over the series. He has his own ship in which he sails the seas. He is joined by many other people including Will Turner and Blackbeard. This is a must see as it is the best of its kind.

Mariners Smash In Derby
On Friday night, The Western Sydney Wanderer were looking for their second win ever against a struggling Melbourne Heart in Sydney. Mark Bridge got on the board first scorimg in the 28th minute. Approximately 24 hours later the Central Coast Mariners were getting ready to play Sydney FC without their marquee player, Alessandro Del Piero in The Central Coast. This was the first and last derby of the round. At half time the score was already massive with the game at 3-1 in favour to The Mariners. No Victories For Victory
The Brisbane Roar have flogged Melbourne Victory 5-0, leaving Melbourne last on the table. The Newcastle Jets have narrowly beaten Sydney FC 3-2 with both Heskey and Del Piero. A big crowd turned up to that game. Adelaide also beat the Western Sydney Wanderers leaving The Western Sydney Wanderers to of never scored a goal yet. Tonight The Heart and The Pheonix clash and The Mariners and Glory will play each other. Adelaide United are topping the ladder with Melbourne down the bottom.

The NRL Grande Finale
The Storm were looking for their first legitimate victory since 1999 while the bulldogs were searching for their fist victory since 2004. The Storm got points first scoring in the 7th minute with a try to Hoffman. Smith failed to convert. Perret scored 18 minutes later. The Bulldogs also failed to convert. There was a punch up. 7 minutes later Billy Slater scored followed by Smith scoring 1 minute later. 6 minutes later Justin O'Neil scored a try just on the stroke of half-time. No one scored in the second half so the Storm won the Grand Final.

Australia To Semi Finals
It was a must win game for South Africa, if they wanted to progress to the semi finals. Australia won the toss and elected to field, putting South Africa into bat. Two BIG names for South Africa, with Levi and Amla at the crease. However Levi was abruptly silenced for nothing by Doherty for no runs. Two over later Watson collected Kallis's Wicket for 6. Amla and JP Duminy gained some momentum getting a 25 run partnership until Amla fell to Doherty's Spin. Five overs later Duminy fell in the exact same fashion. De Villiers fell for 21 runs to Watson. Behardien and Peterson got a decent partnership getting a 30 each. South Africa finished their innings on 5 for 146. That meant that Australia had to get 147 to win.
Australia were looking for their 4th win of the series and in form Watson and Warner came into bat. In the 3rd over Warner got out for 5 by Morkel. Watson and Hussey absolutely capitalised with Watson until 10 overs later Watson got out for 70 off 47 balls. White came in and steered with Hussey Australia to the Semi Finals. Hussey got 45 and White got 21 scoring the winning run as well. Australia won by 8 wickets with 14 balls remaining.
Man of the Match was Shane Watson for 70 runs and 2 wickets. Shane Watson tops the most wickets, runs and sixes. Australia is the only team to be undefeated so far. Australia is going to the semi finals. I think that cricket is still at an amateur level so 1 of the 22 players can control the whole game like what Shane Watson did in this game and series so far.

Watson's 'Best Form Of The Year'
After Australia's good win against Ireland, they were trying to get a second win over the West Indies. Australia struck early bowling Smith halfway through the second over. Gayle and Samuels got 4 sixes and a 50 each. The West Indies kept the run rate up to achieve a respectable total of 8 for 191
Australia came in to bat. Warner and Watson blitzed the ball in all directions collecting 30 runs in 2 overs. Warner fell to big bash teammate Fidel Edwards for 28 off 14 balls. Watson and Hussey capitalised until after 9 overs, the clouds weren't in the mood for cricket, it rained and the rain didn't go. Australia got 100 for 1 after 9 overs. Australia won by 17 runs D/L method.
That means Australia goes to the super 8's finals.
Man of the Match was Shane Watson for 2 wickets and 41 runs including 3 sixes.

Olympic Update: Day 14 & 15
Steve Hooker failed to place in pole vault but he did get to the final. Sam Willoughby, the world champion got a silver medal for Australia in BMX. Australia claimed a silver medal in women's sailing. I reckon that Sailing should be Australia's prominent sport. Australia beat Russia in Women's Basketball to claim the bronze medal. Jamaica smashed the World Record to claim gold in the men's 4x100m relay. Australia won another silver medal in Womens sailing. Australia got bronze in men's hockey while Germany won overall. Mexico beat Brazil in the men's soccer.

Olympic Update: Day 13
OMG don't you get so tired of the ads in the Olympics but anyway your here to hear about the sport. Unfortunately one of Australia's gold medal chances in sailing was unavailable due to strong winds. However in the 200m Usain Bolt claimed the first 'double double' (winning the 100m and the 200m two Olympics in a row.) Yohan Blake came second and Warren Weir came third making Jamaica come 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Australia didn't place in the women's swimming marathon. The Opals played against the US for the semi-finals but unfortunately they lost in a close match. Also in Men's hockey we lost the semi against Germany. The first team sport finished was women's water polo and Australia got a bronze medal. Brittany Broben got a silver medal for Australia in Women's 10m platform.

Olympic Update: Day 12
Unfortunately The Boomers lost their game against the 'dream team,' the US. Also The Aussie Men got eliminated in the quarter final against Serbia in water polo. But in Sailing Australia won the 2 people sailing event (I don't know the real name). The funny thing about that race is that they were going to win as long as they entered it because they were so far in front in points before the race.

Unfortunately Australia lost the water polo failing to progress. More positively we won 2 gold medals. We won one of them in Cycling track with Aussie's hopeful Anna Meares winning the sprint. The other one was won by Sally Pearson in the 100m hurdles. That takes Australia to 11th on the medal tally.

The London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony
We have waited 4 years for this. We have waited 48 months for this. We have waited 1425 days for this. We have waited 34 200 hours for this. We have waited 2 052 000 minutes. We have waited 123 120 000 seconds for the London 2012 Olympic Games. You saw stuff from funny orchestra with Rowan Atikson to The Queen paracuting with James Bondinto the stadium. (Don't worry it was just a projection). There was a special construction segment and fireworks. There were dances and songs after all that the 204 countries came marching out proudly holding their flag. It was in alphabetical apart from Greece was first and Great Britain. Lauren Jackson held the flag for Australia. Mariel Zagunis held the flag for the USA and Sir Chris Hoy held the flag for Great Britain.

State Of Origin
The game started with the underdogs, New South Wales scoring a try thanks to Akiula Uate after the ball bounced on his back then he swivelled and found the ball and put it to the ground. Todd Carney did a terrible conversion not even getting close to the goal posts. A few dropped bombs later by Billy Slater, Greg Bird confronted Queensland and that ended up with a PUNCH-UP! Then Michael Jennings got a sin bin. In the 26th minute Darius Boyd equalised and then Queensland got in front with excellent conversion kicking by Jonathon Thurston. Then Darius Boyd got 2 tries to his name in the last minute of the first half and Jonathon Thurston converted yet again.
Early in the second half Michael Jennings scored a try and Todd Carney finally converted. In the 73rd minute of play Cooper Cronk cross-kicked a ball which Billy Slater knocked back and then Greg Inglis collects the ball and puts it over the try line. However the video referee rules that Robbie Farah accidentally knocked the ball out of Greg Inglis's hands. It was ruled a try. Thurston converted for yet another time.

Chelsea vs Bayern Match Summary
This game is the Grand Final for the Chamipons League. Chelsea were without key players- Terry, Ramires, Meirele and Ivanovic. In the first half Bayern dominated but they weren't turning opportunities in to goals. Chelsea gained a bit of control in the second half but Bayern were still dominating. In the 83rd minute Bayern finally scored a goal. In spite of this Fernando Torres replaced Kalou as Chelsea wre getting desperate. Many nail biting minutes later for the Chelsea fans Torres won Chelsea a corner, Didier Drogba capitalised by doing an expert header of the corner delivered by Juan Mata. In extra time Bayern missed a penalty which would of won them the game. No team scored in extra time. Now it was time for the all-mighty dreaded... Penalty Shoot-out. Bayern scored off the first one however Mata failed to score for Chelsea. They both scored the following 3 penalties including the German Goalkeeper take the 3rd Penalty for Bayern. However in their 4th penalty Bayern missed and Chelsea scored putting on equal terms. Bayern missed their last penalty, leaving the pressure to Didier Drogba. Was he going to finish in style for possibly his last game wearing the blue jersey scoring a goal, or was he going to miss? He scored... The very best players rarely miss Penalties and this was no exception. Chelsea won 1-1 (pen-4-3). The blue shirts had a happy time celebrating with the Chamipons League Trophy. This puts to big titles to their name, The FA Cup and The Champions League Cup.

5 Reasons Why Queensland Will Win State Of Origin
![]() |
| The Blues And Maroons Will Go Head To Head On The 23rd Of May In Melbourne |
Now me and my co-writer Patrick, seeing as I'm from the almighty state that is Queensland and Pat's from New South Wales we write these post on each others blogs! So these are my top five reasons.
1. We have speedy backs (i.e Slater, Yow Yeh, Inglis) who can weave their way through the Blues' forwards
2. We have gigantic forwards (i.e Taylor, Thaiday, Leoroyd-Lars) to stop the Blues' players in their tracks
3. We have a solid game plan and high confidence levels after winning the past six State Of Origin's!
4. We have a great mix of experienced veterans and young blood on the field
5. We have four kickers in the one side! Cronk, Smith, Thurston and possibly Cherry-Evans

100 Years Since The Titanic Sunk
It is 100 years since the Titanic sunk. It hit the iceberg at around midnight and the Titanic sunk 2 hours later. Many people missed the departure only to their relief as the Titanic sunk. About 600 people got on lifeboats and survived. Only one person is still alive 100 years later.

Sydney In Finals After Close Win
![]() |
| Chianese Celebrating After Scoring A Goal |
The second half seemed to be more uneventful with no goals happening until in the 83rd minute Jobe Wheelhouse grabbed a much needed goal for the Jets. Some nerve racking minutes later the Jets had their last (half) chance with Jeremy Brockie attempting to find the net with his head. After that the Sky Blues confirmed finals hope beating the Jets 3-2.
This puts Sydney 5th, in the finals while the Jets leave at an 7th.

Johnny English Reborn
Johnny English Reborn is the sequel to Johnny English. It is about Johnny English, a confident but unintelligent spy who works for M17. Johnny English (Rowan Atkinson) and co-partner spy Agent Tucker (Daniel Kaluuya) set out to stop the Chinese Premier from
being killed. Johnny English then meets up with Simon Ambrose (Dominic West). On the way back from China in the plane the first bit of the vortex key is stolen by 'Susan'. That leads to embarrasment between the prime minister and the boss. The assassin cleaner lady then try to kill Johnny.
Going On later into the film Johnny English and Agent Tucker go to a military base in Switzerland. Simon Ambrose turns out to be a double agent and poisons Johnny before running away. However a kiss gives Johnny a second life and he chases Simon until he eventually blows up the ski cart that Simon is riding in.
I give this move 8/10 because it is a bit confusing but it had action as well as a bit of humour and laughs.
I recommend it to people 8 to 24 however it can be a good movie for most ages depending on what you like.

Phew Woo
Late Wednesday night Austalia's most wanted man, Malcolm Naden was found 30km away from Gloucester. He was caught by police dog 'Chuck' thanks to some smart police work. He was out in the bush for 7 years and imagine what his body and face would be like. So now residents in Gloucester and Nowedoc can sit back and enjoy a nice coffee without the thought of someone breaking in.
Sammy Creates A Tie
AustraLia batted first scoring a handy 220 runs including fifties from Mike Hussey and George Bailey.
The West Indies walked out into the middle with belief from their last game. However they found themselves 6-117 at one stage but a handy partnership between Russell and Baugh brought them back into the game. Later in the game they needed 7 runs off the last over to win. Off the first two balls there were singles but on the third ball there was a four. West Indies needed 1 off 3 to win with one wicket in hand. Sammy hits it, the non striker (Roach) runs but Sammy stay's still basically waiting to be run out.
For All West Indies Fans: Blame the tie on Sammy
For All Austalian Fans: God Bless Sammy for making two consecutive wins for them a dream.

A Not So Ordinary Day
It was an ordinary day in Melbourne, the sun was out and people were ready for a great game of cricket. Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat, putting the Aussies to field for the first time this series. Australia got two key wickets early on seeing Jayawerdene and century maker Dilshan on their way. Sri Lanka then got a big 123 run partnership from Chandimal and Sangakarra before they both fell. Thrimmanne got a quick fifty later on. Christian did the unordinary by getting a hatrick claiming Perera caught from a good catch by Mike Hussey in the deep. Next ball Senanayake got out LBW. Hatrick ball.... clapping all round the ground. Christian bowls, Kulasekara stumbles, shout for LBW, given out, however hawk eye reveals it may have gone down leg side. Sri Lanka get bowled out for 238.
Australia lost 3 early wickets so were 3-26 after 5 overs. Australia gained some control collecting an 87 run partnership between Watson and M Hussey before they both departed to the pavillion. D Hussey got a good 74 but Australia lost by 9 runs with 1 over remaining.
Man of the Match was Chandimal but Christian couldn't have been too far behind.
This will see Australia and Sri Lanka in the finals.

Dhoni Rewrites The Record Books
On Tuesday the 24th of Febuary, India were taking on Sri Lanka at Adelaide Oval. The Indians struck early getting Thranga out for a duck. Dishlan fell soon after. Sri Lanka gained some control with Chandimal and Sangakarra getting a fifty run partnership before Sangakarra fell against the spin. The Sri Lankans gained the upper hand when Jayawardene and Chandimal put on 94 before they both fell soon after. From there onwards it was a batting collapse leaving them with 9/236.
The Indians had a collapse from one end of the pitch with the Indians 4-118 before half centuries from Gambhir (91) and Dhoni (58) brought them close to a victory. However Dhoni for a second time this series may have left his run too late, needing 9 off the last over. With 1 ball to go they needed 4 runs. Dhoni smacked the ball through covers but a good save restricted the Indians to 3 bringing the game to a tie.
This is the first tie between these two teams and the 26th tie in ODI history.

Aussie Secure Close Win Over Sri Lanka
At the WACA on the 10th of Febuary Australia lined up for the third game of the popular Tri Series against India and Sri Lanka. Australia were firm favourites coming off a win while Sri Lanka coming off a loss. Sri Lanka sent out an early warning having Australia 3/61 at the tenth over. But Australia later consolidated with Clarke putting in a fifty and a strong tail helped Australia making a competitive total at 231.
An early wicket from Starc helped Australia remain confident this was followed by a mix up that sent the world #1 batsmen, Kumar Sangararra into the pavillion. Dishlan left soon after resulting in the visitors losing 3 wickets for 19 runs. Doherty bowled well to help Australia grab victory despite Mathews making an impressive 64 including contributing to a 46 run 10th wicket partnership with Prasad that left the visitors 5 runs short with 1 ball to go.
Official Man of the Match was Michael Clarke although I thought Angelo Mathews was a worthy Man of the Match because his good work with the bat and ball nearly brought Sri Lanka an unexpected victory.
This result makes Australia the likely winner of the Tri Series.

Jets and Heart Clash
Tonight Melbourne Heart will be Facing the Newcastle Jets at the recently name changed Hunter Stadium in Newcastle. The Melbourne Heart have had a good season but recently more recently they have not won one of their 7 games in 2012.While the Newcastle Jets recently broke their away drought and haven't been defeated since including a 5-2 victory against Sydney FC. This is a must win game for both teams because there is a chance to propel themselves in front of the losing team.
