Dhoni Rewrites The Record Books

On Tuesday the 24th of Febuary, India were taking on Sri Lanka at Adelaide Oval. The Indians struck early getting Thranga out for a duck. Dishlan fell soon after. Sri Lanka gained some control with Chandimal and Sangakarra getting a fifty run partnership before Sangakarra fell against the spin. The Sri Lankans gained the upper hand when Jayawardene and Chandimal put on 94 before they both fell soon after. From there onwards it was a batting collapse leaving them with 9/236.

The Indians had a collapse from one end of the pitch with the Indians 4-118 before half centuries from Gambhir (91) and Dhoni (58) brought them close to a victory. However Dhoni for a second time this series may have left his run too late, needing 9 off the last over. With 1 ball to go they needed 4 runs. Dhoni smacked the ball through covers but a good save restricted the Indians to 3 bringing the game to a tie.

This is the first tie between these two teams and the 26th tie in ODI history.
